Truth told, I wouldn't even know what to listen for... What kind of issues would one experience; in regards to grid-stopper placement?

Larger series resistance will reduce high frequencies through interaction with the input capacitance of the tube, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I've noticed it on different ones, and no sound differencies with or withoud the extra grid stopper, as Martin wrote.
