wire v2b #94
Hi all, Lately I went through my collection of #94 pics and I'm wondering what the white wire, that goes from the v2b (between cap and resistor) is doing? It seems it is going under the board and never show up again.
It is certainly not the treble bleed because that is tapped from the lug of the ratio pot.
Anyone got clues?

Looks like that wire reappears at the loop jacks, to the left of the zip-tied brown and white wires, in the second photo.
Re: wire v2b #94
Martin, I don'see that. I see 1 white/brown tied together going to the loop(white=from master volume) and 2 (relay?) wires on the right. The wire left from the tied wires seems to me is a black one=ground.
Also if it is wired like you suggested there would be a giant overdrive volume

No these are the bias and PI wires.Bombacaototal wrote:I think this is what martin is refering toerwin_ve wrote:Martin, I don'see that. Ah, I think you are correct. The shine from the insulation and the printing on the wire led me astray. I'm wondering what the purpose of a connection there would be too, given the high signal level. A treble bleed is a possibility though... maybe some earlier version that has been replaced? Looks like it might have been clipped.erwin_ve wrote:Martin, I don'see that. Maybe you're right, I've never seen it in any picture of a dumble. Maybe some kind of NFB connection to the hidden PAB connection? There is a lot you can do with the 22M resistors on the PAB.martin manning wrote:Ah, I think you are correct. The shine from the insulation and the printing on the wire led me astray. Looks to be clipped here too...

Hard to see, could also been seen as a wire going between the sandwich construction.martin manning wrote:Looks to be clipped here too...
Anyone ever seen a OD treble bleed tapped from there in older dumble ods's?

Bedankt Jelle! Interesting! Do you know what is tested when using this bare lead?jelle wrote:That is a bare lead that sticks out of the goop, it is for testing purposes.

I don't know what one could get from there that couldn't be found at the other end of the resistor...

Maybe it's an anti-noise antenna. Mesa Boogie yses them all the time....

Re: wire v2b #94
I think Andy Fuchs stated in the past that he had seen that type of thing before and that he though it was for taking a measurement to set the OD. I took the photo and can tell you that is just a bare wire going nowhere. As far as taking a measurement on the other side of the resistor, it looks like that would have been covered with goop and it would be easier to clip a test lead to the wire.

CW, I believe the eyelets that the coax connects to were left ungooped.
