Someone can give me some info about the Premium vs Common Cap ?
Is those cap are making difference in TONE ?
So if... What it the most of it ?

If your concerned about ESR of a chap then place two caps in parallel to get the same total UF value and you will have 50% less ESR.

In most I pretty much use the Sprague TE and 30D series for cathode and bias locations. No mojo for me involved, they are high temp rated and typically have an lower ESR. However, it has been discussed here before before in the Dumble section that the "standard" is harsher in tone verses the TE series. Nevertheless, your mileage will vary.DaveWell wrote:Hi !

I have not been able to hear much "mojo" or tone difference in preamp cathode bypass caps.
OTOH, the caps in the tone stack seem to have more of an audible effect. For example, I have had a string of successes replacing silver mica caps with ceramic, where values of 1000p or less are called for.

The correct calcul for paralles cap is a addition in Uf but same voltage
CTotal = C1 + C2 + C3
And serie Capacitor:
Ctotal = C1 x C2 /C1 + C2
Or get a Premium cap i guess !

Yes, but this is the alternate universe of guitar amps where good is bad and bad is good. We aren't (necessarily) looking for linearity or transparency or timbral accuracy.
