Bluesmaster sounds dull when OD master is above 5, help

No dumbleator and the processor has a Line/Stomp switch on the loop. I can't locate the actual DB levels of the switch but I'd expect -10 / +4 is pretty close.

In my experience with the subject, both -10dB (consumer equipment) and +4dB (pro audio equipment) are line level. Stomp level is closer to -25dB, if I'm not mistaken.

I have to wonder if you were to attenuate the signal level going out to the effects, would that solve the problem. But then you would need to make up the lost gain, either in the effects unit itself (where is its output level control normally set in your rig?) or, more likely, in the master section of the amp.

That makes sense. A Dumbleator would be able to adjust gain in and out so that may be the answer. I have one started on the bench but not much time available right now, it'll take months at the rate I'm going.

This isn't a showstopper, I seldom need that kind of volume, in fact I don't like playing that loud, I prefer to have the PA handle it.
