It would seem to be packed with thiose Gray cased filters made in Tiwan that I have replaced Gozillon of out of Fender Amps!
Sometimes only one out of 5 or 6 in a amp goes bad yet they where all made within the same couple of month range!
If your only looking to experiment with them , go ahead and get them , but for a repair job on a guys amp who gigs a lot I would get a different brand!
As always in life you get what you pay for!!!
I trust no filters these days until I have confirmed its uf value on my meter and proved out that it checks in good ESR wise also!

Re: Capacitors from Antique Electronics supply
Thanks Stevem. I have just received a JJ 40+20+20+20 can cap from the last supply company in our sad part of the world. MR VALVE, they had been in business for as long as I can remember (I'm 55) and have sadly had to close their doors.. I will use this for my Ephiphone restore project. Easy size and install.

AES doesn't specify what brands are in the mix. Probably several, and they might be getting rid of old stock due to the limited shelf life of electrolytics. You could order your own assortment and get exactly what you want.
Steve, the grey caps you are referring to are Illinois? There was a run of defective ones some years ago due to a bad batch of electrolyte, but I believe that problem has been resolved.

Yes, that's the brand name, but to me they still seem to have short life spans compared to other brands , heck I have some LCRs out of 70s Highwatts that still test and check out fine!

Re: Capacitors from Antique Electronics supply
Some guys believe ICs are jinxed and swap them out no-matter what. But as far as I'm concerned, if the caps look okay and the amp works fine, I leave them where they are. YMMV
