Non of the cheap input jacks on that amp are of the switched type, as such whenever the amp is on with the volume up and no guitar plugged in you will have more and more hum being heard as the volume control is turned up .

This is a large 60hz hum. Not the typical buzz you get from these types of amps.

Looking at Antique Amp Supply now for something component wise.

Well, I put in the caps and just like the Alamo Capri the 60hz hum went away.

There is a slight hum now, but that is 'normal' for these kinds of amps.
