HV switch from 300V to 260V

I have a new build I am working on using the classic tone TW style trannies. I am curious if and HOW I can switch between the 300v and 260v taps on the secondary? I did do some searching here but did not find anything

Something like this? Seriously, you need something that will handle the voltage and the current. This kind of switch isn't particularly practical but it will stand up to the application.

We switch 500VDC with $3 Carlings all the time(Standby switch), and IIRC, they're not even rated for DC. Not to say that you should exceed the AC rating, but another option, assuming SS rectification, would be to switch it afterwards, so you are switching DC.

Just looked at the number of views It works very well I did this in some of my other amps before I knew about the Zwreck switching. I usually end up running the higher HT voltage so don't put in this switching anymore.

putting some high voltage caps (.01-.005u 2kV) across the switch contacts to reduce/prevent contact arcing might help too.

I have secondary taps in my Express build and just switch them with standard mini toggle switches. Never live switched though, always with the power off. That way they never break running current. It's exceeding their voltage rating, but that is more once again about switching and extinguishing the arc rather than breakdown to external parts. And the 2A rating is more than enough for 250mA HT current, even as pulses before the rectifier.
