scroll down check out the tear down of a metal 6J5. Almost like Fabergé jewelry, damn impressive industrial mass production in 1937. No computes, lasers, CNC, CAD... Amazes me, anyway.

Yup, back then it wasn't just about the corporate bottom line, but making a good product too!

There's the crystal lattice.
No crystal meth lettuce back then.

Now if only they had found a way to add a small dob of electron-transparent dampening goo to each of those wires sections that are unsupported, then we wouldn't have so much of a problem with microphonics !

In 1937 GE, and everyone else for that matter, would have told you to turn it down!
