Add on loop for peavey classic 50

Post by shane »

Hi folks
Anyone got any recommendations for an add on fx loop for peavey classic 50? It's an earlier model without a loop.
Just wondered if any of the available loop kits are suitable ( such as the tube town ones), or if there's any diy circuits you might recommend.
Cheers

It goes where the schematic says NEXT.
Google is your friend. Search for this:
"passive effects loop schematic"

Hi Phil
Actually the peavey loop on the later model goes before that stage after the master.
The next on that bit goes into the split load inverter.
I have been told that peavey can still do a retro fit loop kit. Looking into it.
Thanks for the the reply though
Cheers

A loop needs a recovery stage. The PI has some gain and it will work. I don't think I'd send the return directly into a split load inverter. You could move it back one and that might actually be better regardless of the PI. I'm not really sure where it's best. I wouldn't overthink this. A passive loop is 3 resistors and two jacks with a pair of blocking caps on each side of it. It just sends the dry signal and returns the wet signal. If you need to get fancy with buffers and whatnot, it will be more challenging.

I'm not really sure what you are looking for here but I hope you find it!

Mojotone makes a nice inexpensive loop kit that's buffered!
