Firestorm, you have inspired me. I'm gonna roll that baby through a couple weeks f my amps and see where it sounds the best. After all, you can't take em with you!
My other favorite tube is an RCA black plate from the 50s. It sounds great in just about everything you throw it in. I've recently discovered in certain circuits it will add a high-end quality that I don't particularly care for. But when it sounds good, it sounds amazing.
Btw, that's a pretty cool story about your Mullards! I love stories like that. One day I hope to luck into an estate sale pile of old tube gear for cheap. Lol
