New Vintage Racing Podcast

Post by gktamps »

Happy Holidays, Amp Garage!

After reading the the thread on muscle cars here, I thought some of you might like to hear about the new podcast I have created for those interested and involved in the vintage racing scene. My co-host is a well-known race car preparer and engine builder here in California.

You can check out more at www.vintageracingpodcast.com, and download our first episode, which I mixed and posted yesterday.

It's my first time working with digital audio, mixing, etc., and the program that came with my new Zoom H6, so please be kind - it will improve as I have more time to learn the ropes. Also, yes, the guitar segue sucks, but I had literally 5-6 minute to conceive a simple riff and record it, and then had to drop it into the recording with fades, etc.

I also am trying to work out the RSS details, so that listeners can subscribe to the feed. After I get that figured out (all new to me), I'll submit it to iTunes, etc. So much to learn, so little time...

Cheers to you all,

Greg

What a surprise to find your podcast on a guitar amp forum! Like the cliff-hanger that you threw in at the end, looking forward to the next one. Are you going to have a forum on your website? Perhaps adding more pictures to the gallery, please?! I regret selling my Alfa GTA, Duetto and Spider, but I swear I will get them all back once I have a decent garage to house them all. :P

Hi Jazbo8,
Thank you for your comments! I thought twice about posting, but since we've had plenty of threads about cars, even recently, and other non-amp interests, I thought I'd put it out there.
As you heard in the first half, and will hear more in the second, my friend and co-host Dave was very successful with Alfas, and had about 3 GTAs in the past. After winning 3 national championships in Lotus Elans (and a 26R), he moved on to formula cars and a Chevron sports racer ex-Le Mans car.
If the podcast gets popular, I'll add either a forum or other ways for listeners to directly participate. More photos are coming soon, and I'll also have a gallery for listeners' race cars - wanna send some?
I'm also planning to rotate my guitar segues, giving me a chance to rotate through all of my amps!
Thanks again,
Cheers,
Greg

I'm now on Episode 13, and recording two more this week. Stop by the web site if you are interested at all in vintage sports and formula car racing of the same basic era as some of the most iconic tube amplifiers!

Cheers,

Greg

Me, I don't have a racing CAR, but does this count? At 55, I race go Karts. GREAT fun!!! Besides building amps, it is a great hobby.
