I didn't like the Naylor loop, thought it was noisy and definitely affected the tone. The simple Merlin loop is very neutral and quiet IMO...

Huh, this amp sounds pretty stellar with the M75-LD. I'd have figured just the M75 small dust cap would have been better. I'll make a note about that for future Naylor players who need a speaker that can do a lot of tones. Thanks for the clip!

Hmm I haven't found the stock loop to be noisy but I think it definitely works better with rack gear than most pedals guess I'm gonna have to try for myself . I've got a couple of sd builds so it should be fun to compare

Hello Gents!

I made a few minor adjustments to the circuit:

1. I changed the V1b cathode cap from .1 to .047

2. I changed the treble cap from 220pf to 270pf

3. I changed the Linear 25k MV pot to Audio 25k

Hey, I built an amp with the SuperDrive preamp, and wound up subbing a different loop as well. The loop used had send and receive stages, both with level controls. It's pretty good.

How do you like the loop in this build? Does it work well with a delay pedal? Seems like you're pretty happy with it. I do like the fact that it only uses a single triode. Thoughts?

I love the loop. I tested it with a Boss DD7, Belle Epoch, MXR Carbon Copy, and use the El Capistan. It is simple. But, I use the 12AT7 in parallel to get the most out of that tube.
