gibson tweed tolex (date it with s#)

I ca.e across a old Gibson 5watt tweed amp it just says Gibson not skylark it's has 5y3 6v6 and 12ax7, the tolex is like paper if it is tolex I'm not sure it's dingy white yellow I'd like to recover anyone know where to get this stuff

What date code is stamped on the volume control pots body?

Probably a late 50's Gibson GA-5. The GA-8 had that same covering...sort of like an old yearbook covering.

Haven't been able too get inside as screws are super rusty I'll post chassis soon as I get it out

menger66: No idea where to get it, I tried several times. Finally gave up and put either black tolex or Fender cloth tweed on mine (I have three GA-8's).

Seems to have been a 1956-1961 covering only from what I've bought of them.

There is a date code on that paper cased Orange filter, but the shot is too screwed to make it out.

You mean this one looks like ,917..that.would mAke. It around a1959 or.so.s# 9
On.chassis Means nothing?
