In old days this was done alot, as I remember you had to reconigure
resistors in bias supply, i.e. ended up tacking in an additional resistor.
you could easily reverse mod to stock as well. I ran a 100 watt marshall
with 2 el-84s and two 6v6s for kicks. I had some outboard power supplies,
etc. Was loud with a wild tone. i had more extensive mods in mind to it,
But the player I was making it for turned out to be a thief (Marc Lucas), altho
great jazz player, so i never went ahead with it. But it could have given him
distinctive tones, which was point of demo rig. There was alot more to follow
in finished amp. It would have been a unique, amp.
I love what you can do with 6v6's, they are too loud for anything I been
doing lately.
