But I'm considering doing so for a friend that likes lots of break up at low volumes. Any suggestions to that end?

Right on, thanks. What about the 86 special mentioned in this thread, is there a scheme for that anywhere? Maybe I'm just overlooking it...

If I build this amp will I be able to play like that, too? Really nice...amp and playing.

I apologize if I'm blind or wasn't clear. I found the mini HRM schem. I was under the impression he had built a different version that utilized an EF86. I was interested in seeing a schem for that if one existed.
