Tom,
Yup. Super glue is used for drop fills of lacquer and even poly finishes because it blends well.

so was this a good learning or a bad learning??

I remember doing a project many many years ago in school, put contact adhesive onto my Styrofoam model and it melted it away, that was a bad learning...

I've used it on poly.
But since I only drop filled some dings, it was never anything big.
I really screwed up when drilling the chassis for my Tweedle.
Made templates and everything.

Anyway I was gluing a plastic plug to hide a hole and some ran down the
shiny black lacquer.
Like an idiot I tried to wipe it off......

But it's on the back by the speaker jack so no biggy.

I'm going to make face plates to hide the sins perpetrated on said chassis.

I discovered charcoal lighter fluid cleans up PVC plumbing glue off floor tile better then other removers I ever used. And cleans up the purple primer.

I now use in on a lot things for fast clean up around the cabin and home.

Yep good all naphtha.

Doesn't harm most finishes.

Napthalated soap and gasoline work well for controlling zombies around the house too!

Really?

I use to wipe down the freshly painted guitar bodies with naphtha in between coats to clean any finger prints or the like.

I used either ReRanch lacquer or Deft lacquer.
