I have a Peavey Classic 3 and when I power it on, no sound is coming out. The tubes light up and the power lights on, but no sound. What's happening is there some popping noise coming through the speaker but I can't get any out put from my guitar. I've seen one of the tube sockets spark. I've also tapped the tubes with the rubber handle of a screw driver and I'm getting some scratchy and popping noise coming through.
Can anyone help?

How much experience do you have inside an amplifier? It sounds to me like you need to have a tech look at it! At the very least I would say you need a new set of power tubes. Probably a new tube socket and more than likely some resistors and caps that lead to that socket. Hopefully none of the traces are burned on the PC board.
I would take it to a tech until you have more experience with amps.
In any case if you still want to try yourself then take some good pics of the inside of the amp chassis around the tube socket that had sparks and post them here.
