Laser cut custom workstation

Post by xtian »

I designed myself a cart to carry my scope, iron, sig gen, dummy load and accessories. I drew the art in Illustrator, and after getting a few quotes, sent the art to pololu.com:

Custom laser cutting service: https://www.pololu.com/product/749

I had them laser cut the pattern from 1/8" birch plywood. It came out beautifully, and the fit was perfect. I just dabbed the ends of each piece with Titebond.

The wood is flexible, making this prototype a little fragile. But the shop offers 1/8" acrylic for roughly the same price, and you could glue it with cyanoacrylate for a much better result.

Total cost, including shipping was $107.

Artwork attached for you to customize!

Yeah! I'll have to attach an IV pole to hang the banana bag for when an amp arrives with a nasty hangover.

Funny you say that RP, at my work the TEK 3034 and 4034 scopes are all mounted ON medical carts (makes it easy for the hardware and software guys to wheel the scopes to their office).

Xtian, looks great!

You can add a lot of strength to it by reinforcing the corners on the rear face. Cut some triangle shaped pieces, a few small screws (optional; I see it is screwless), glue and clamp.
