For Bass guitar or only clean loud guitar, yes! Otherwise do not waste your time!
When I die, I want to go like my Grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming like the passengers in his car!

Cutting out a man's tongue does not mean he’s a liar, but it does show that you fear the truth he might speak about you!

Marshall Major

Used (with some mods of course) by Richie Blackmore on Deep Purple's early albums and live shows.

I've built a few UL guitar amps and I think it can sound great in the right circuits. dont use any NFB and its cool.
All the ones I've done are very sweet and expressive not sterile or only suited to clean or bass amps.
Have a listen to a DrZ route 66 thats a cool sounding UL amp.

Give it a try I think you may be plesantly suprised.

Cheers

I built the Dr Z Route 66 and used Hammond UL OT running KT66's.
