6S8GT?

I've recently picked up a bunch of old tubes. I know it's kind of silly to design around tubes that are no longer in production, but I like to use what I have. Any thoughts about using the triode section of a 6S8GT? Here's a data sheet:

It looks remarkably close to a single section of a 12AX7 (The diodes would not be used). It has a higher plate resistance, too. The only real issue I'm seeing is with the grid cap...I was thinking about using it for a trem in something. If I've got a ton of real estate in the chassis I use, I might use them for gain stages, but that's a lot of long signal runs coming out of the chassis.

Rectify the diode half, then use the resultant DC to create a fixed bias pre-amp stage... or at least that was the first thing I came up with...

The high Ra suggests it will make a great oscillator tube for a tremolo!

Thanks for the thoughts, guys! What got me started on this was the 6SQ7 being used for tremolo in Gibson amps. It made me think about my own diode/triode surplus (I got like a dozen of these things, and they appear NOS). When I compared the curves, they looked identical (and darn close to a 12AX7). The higher Ra made me think it might be worth a shot. Now I just need to find a good supply of ends for the cap.
