I'm looking a bit at the fx loop in Merlins 1st preamp book page 274,
Did anyone ever build this one?
I've built the loop from his second book page 220, but am having some trouble with phase cancellation.
I'm also looking at the differences of them and wondering if it would be an idea to sort of merge them.... not sure if I'm making sense....
Any coments?

He who dies with the most tubes... wins

I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com

Yeah, I Saw that thread, and I built that loop myself.
However I have some trouble with phase cancellation.
In Merlins first preamp book, he lists a loop that Can change phase and serial to parallel operation with one pot.
I was curious if anyone had experience with that loop.

So if you fuse the two HT lines, how do you figure the value of the fuse?
Fast blo or slo blo?
For example, my ods clone.
100w
3x 12ax7 and 4x 6L6
PT is 420v @ 450mA
6.3v @ 5.5A
It has a 5A slo blo on the primary hot side.
I have been told that the 5A is too high for for this circuit?
If you have a power tube that shorts to the heater or other catastrophic tube failure, do the HT fuses protect the PT against that?

Don't let that smoke out!

I too would like to learn more about the parallel capable loop! In concept, a parallel loop is superior to a serial loop in the idea that not all of your signal goes through some sort of foot/stomp/effects thingie! Similar to the way effects are added "alongside/parallel" to any particular signal at a mixing console. Not to be confused with the serial "insert" configuration on each individual channel.arjepsen wrote:soo... did anyone ever build the loop mentioned???
Thanks,
