Ampeg V4

Post by lpd »

I picked up an old V4 cab just finished wiring in a quad of 1968 Celestion G12Ms 55hz. Pulled the insulation too. Needs the grill replaced as the original has a couple small tears but fired her up with a Vox AC15 and all I can say is WOW!!! This cab sounds great. Anyone else use these?

I got 2 cabs in 1978,Long gone now,That was my first effort to put together a stack,Mom hated it,I like it.The cabs Im sure were plywood no particle bd.I was 17 and it was a great find,Had the V4 head as well.Whish I could go back in time and mess around with it.Good luck!!!Mikey

I tried with the insulation but it seems as if there was too much bass even with the Vox AC15 which with a stock Celestion blue always seemed a little bass shy to me. Is there another benefit?
