I have been on a build matching heads or cabs for existing equipment kick. A great justification for acquiring new gear - as if I need a reason. A couple of years ago I built a small cab from cherry and walnut and it needed a head to match. A Frenzel Champ - his version - is on order.
I will digress a bit as my first intention was to build a combo with a closed back. I mashed the amp design - tubes up or tubes down or on it's back with knobs pointed up, the completed unit was always 21-22" tall. No matter how much I schemed or sketched I never got a warm fuzzy. Then the cherry cab called - YO, dumbass! The warm fuzzy arrived. I happened to have some left over bits - enough for the sides, top and a front plate. Plywood and fake cherry fingers will be the bottom.
As usual the process required stupidity in the form of cutting a finger joint wrong. Did I cuss? Well, a little. Then I got the parts home last night to glue up. I cut my fingers proud so I can sand them even. But I couldn't get the fingers to play nice. Pipe clamps can exert a lot of force but they won't squeeze wood that is too thick to lay flat. Crap. Back to the off site drum sander.
Here are some parts / assembly pics. I am at the sand it all down and oil it stage - can hardly wait.

You may need a strip of veneer for the bottom front/rear edges.

Hi John,
You're right, plywood end grain is not a good match for cherry. I put 1" walnut strips on the front and back edges to match the speaker cab.

Finished except for feet, handle and if the speaker cab as any indication 22 more coats of oil. Now just waiting on amp to arrive in the next couple of weeks.

Hi Tom,
I use 2/3 boiled linseed and 1/3 mineral spirits. I like this because I can steam the inevitable dings out and re oil easily.

Got the amp finally - UPS played the 'Made it to the terminal and disappeared' game for three days. Thankfully arrived without any forklift customization.
Pushing a Scumback M75 / Celestion Gold pair it is a very sweet single ended amp.
