I have this old single ended 5watt AC DC amp from the 60s that I've decided to harvest for its parts. Rather than die playing it.
The output transformer seems useable, but I'm unsure what power tube would work with it.... A power tube that is more common for popular circuits, rather than the 50C5 that was in there.
The turns ration worked out to 234.
Primary impedance 1872 with an 8 ohm speaker.
Any reccomendations on what to do with this little guy?
My first thought was an el84 in conjunction with a 32 ohm speaker.

You'll be pulling it too far from its comfort zone.
I'd rebuild it but using a 115:115V insulation/separation transformer.
Otherwise, if you need a new PT+new tubes+new sockets+probably a new OT or .... getting 32 ohms worth of speakers .... you might as well discard it.
Now if you rebuild it and power it safely it can be a cool project.
Those old light speakers sound killer for guitar.
Do not forget the 3 prong properly grounded wiring.

May be you can try it with an UL84 tube

Those things are so small I would bet it's only a 3 watt OT, I would chuck it and get Hammond 15 watt 125 series OT! Believe me the difference is night and day even if you where starting off with 8 to 10 watt OT where you to A / B the two!
