OSX Yosemite & USB MIDI: any known issues? - RESOLVED

Hi Everyone,

I posted this on the VGuitar forum, but so far, no takers. So I'm hoping someone here may have some insight on this. I upgraded to OSX 10.10 Yosemite about a month ago. Today, i tried to run Floorboard patch editor for the Roland GR-55 Guitar Synth, but no go. There is no USB MIDI communication between my 2009 Mac Mini and the GR-55. Has anyone here seen a loss of MIDI after updating to Yosemite?

Lou, I think there was an update this week.
I read too many reports of midi trouble to risk Yosemite yet.

As Tony mentioned, there is an update to 10.10.2 available now. I would install that and see what happens. I have a 2009 Mini and just installed Yosemite (I was using Snow Leopard). Everything is working fine for me although I don't use midi. There were some bugs with Wifi, bluetooth and a few other things that are supposedly fixed.

If the update doesn't do it for you, maybe uninstall the Roland stuff for the midi that you use and reinstall it.

With a little poking around on the Roland website, I discovered the Yosemite USB Driver for the GR-55. I installed it and I'm happy to report I'm back in business!
