Thetubestore.com gets $191.90 for a pair. That's way too spendy for my liking. Considering you can get a matched pair of KT120's from the same source for $107.90, I think the 150's are way overpriced! For only 10 watts more dissipation.... Not worth it.

Ha, even a 6L6GC has a limiting value of 100k g1-k in fixed bias, see http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/fran ... /6L6GC.pdf
So if complying with that, parallel pairs of 6L6GC would be no more difficult to drive than KT120 / KT150.

Regarding the relaxation of the limiting g1-k resistance, it was Gingertube's theory that I was thinking of http://music-electronics-forum.com/t32978/

...and you don't even get a wooden box with plush velvet inserts and a numbered certificate that connotes some sort of authenticity!

One of the few instances where USA price is more expensive, they aren't too bad over here, eg http://www.hotroxuk.com/tungsol-kt150.h ... tAodvjIAJw
