Should we make a guitar section?

Post by Structo »

Seems like a few of us build guitars and since they go hand in hand with guitar amps, should we add a Guitar section?
We can discuss making guitars, setup, modifying, pickups, effects, etc.

Should we create a new section called "Guitars" in the section with Technical and Garage talk?

Should we leave it alone and keep on truckin'?

I hear you, Matt.

Yes, there are many other places to go for guitar forums.

It just seemed like there are a few more of us making or repairing electric guitars these days.

But I do understand the reluctance to change things that are not broken...

Just putting a feeler out there.

Now that's funny, we already have enough of that!

I am concerned that if the scope of the 'Garage creeps enough, it's going to invite those who would turn it into The Drama Page. That said, a Guitar and Pedal section would be cool.

Why don't we just add guitars/basses, pedals and vintage pedals, pedalboards, rack gear, PA and recording equipment......just one step closer to TGP. No wonder we have lost our niche corner of world. We are going down slow, last one standing, grab the flag.

I move we create all those categories and also make the whole amp garage restricted except for the Garage Talk and For Sale sections. We also need a section for wind chimes and garden gnomes.

The only way to gain access to the restricted sections would be
1. having more than 100 posts, the majority of which cannot be about your cat or questions about modding a Blues Junior into a Marshall Major.

Or

2. having a recommendation for admittance from one of the established members.

LOL, this should keep Tom busy for a while.

Oh, oh, how about a section called, "All About Snow Shovels"?

And this would be really neat, and kind of cruel, after the obligatory 100 posts, then the neophyte would be given access to the wind chimes, garden gnomes and snow shovels sections but nothing more. They would be, like WTF? If they stick around for another 100 posts, then everything opens up. ROFL.

No, I haven't been drinking tonight. I did lick a few batteries though. Just for fun.
