Thanks for sharing the love on the Bassman T.M. I really appreciate that.

A blonde Bassman is definitely on my to do list. Luckily chassis' are available for these amps, here in Australia they have been bought up and tucked away, I'm lucky to have a 6G7a Bandmaster.

I haven't tried it, so I can't comment, but I'm wondering if using the Tweed 5F6a PI stage, might put a bit more fire into these amps?

I thought I'd add this as it may be relevant and possibly a good mod. My Bandmaster was at some stage of it's life paired with a Bassman 2x12" cab. The output transformer was replaced with the correct Schumaker transformer that was used in the Bassman, but more interesting is the amp uses the Blonde Twin power transformer, it has been rewound for 240Vac. It delivered a rail voltage of 460VDC. I love the amp as it has that great tremolo circuit, the EQ on the amp works treat due to the taper of the pots and the amp is very touch sensitive. I have gigged it and it has also received compliments on it's good tone.

Due to the power transformer it can take tubes such as KT-66 and the various EL-34 type tubes. The mods that come to mind for my amp are grid stoppers on the output stage and modifying the driver stage to tweed specs for more gain. The mod I did incorporate was using the tweed presence circuit, I found the presence only worked from 3 o'clock onwards. The other option I thought of was a 25K reverse taper pot. The 5K Lin pot was easier to find.
Yours Sincerely
