Hi TAG member,
i'm fairly new to amp building and i'm currently building a stand alone preamp wich use this jensen output stage (line level). since Jensen OT are way overpriced, EDCOR recommend the XSM10K-600 as a replacement.
But i've no idea how to wire the output of this thing !
Wich pin should i consider as the ground ?
Is Output (+) ans Output (-) the signal for a stereo jack and center tap, the ground ?
Do you think i should always put a resitive load on the OT when powering the preamp ?
Thanks
Mat

Re: Stand alone preamp output wiring
I think you can ignore the center taps on the Edcor (use pins 1 and 4, and 5 and 8) and connect it as shown in the Jensen diagram. On the primary, pin 1 is the signal, and 4 is ground. The secondary is shown assuming it will be feeding an input that has its own ground reference.

Don't forget to add ground lift switch you will most likely need it.
