Here are some Small Special sound bytes (my build, NFB is switchable which makes it for a nice drive when you crank the volume with an LP). It is a great clean amp! I have a Two Rock Exo that is nice little amp with the typical Two Rock thingy going on. A tad different, but I will take Small Special any day. JM sig is different story altogether, but closer to Small Special.

from the original build thread:
Clean Strat - http://soundcloud.com/synchu/synchussleepingchild-clean
With Baja Real Tube Overdrive - Strat again http://soundcloud.com/synchu/synchussle ... ild-2-with
Cranked with Gibson LP
http://soundcloud.com/synchu/synchussleepingchild-3

More recent ones:

good luck,

Wow that sounds damn good. How much would it cost me to build one of those guys?
Also, how much would it cost me to have someone (even someone from this forum) build me one?

I can say that from the clips of this guy it is quite close to the Two Rocks I have played and heard.

Thanks. I like it quite a lot too. Makes me want to play my strats more...
In Europe it is a bit more expensive, so I can't tell what the total price will be in US, but certainly there are a number of (more than) great US based builders in this forum that can build one for you.

Well, if anyone wants to chime in. I would love to have one built for me.

Thanks,
The schematic is the one available here on TAG.
I did a layout based on an amp and the schematic and posted it here (page 2) https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=22723 (you can read the story over there :) ).
My first built from scratch amp. If I only knew what I am looking at ... a life long obsession maybe. :)

I'll recommend to look at jelle's work of art build that he posted above. Hope I can get there someday (few million years? ).

Okay, so I found a guy who said he would build it for me. He sells lots of other clones and he said he would do it for a good price. The problem is, he said the layout and schematic I found weren't enough info for a price estimate.

Can someone please send me all the info they can regarding schematics and layouts for the Dumble Small Special.

Thanks.

I will be curios to understand in what sense this information is found insufficient, but with all due respect, if I were you, I would find another builder.

That's probably a good idea. He is the only one who quoted me sub $1000 range so it might not be as good.

I may not be understanding what you want, but...

There are several builders here on this forum that not only know how to build this amp, but probably have a more thorough understanding of what it takes to build one. Why don't you try and get someone here to build it? I'm not trying to drum up business for anyone but this is the most logical choice considering these are the people that brought all this info together.

Sometimes not all the info is all neatly packaged and put together for a quick build. Sometimes you have to hunt and peck through the forum to get everything you will need.

Assembling a bill of materials off of a schematic is not hard. Everything there is what you need, especially if there is a layout as well.

This will not be a quick lego set type of build. You will need to have boards made, find a suitable chassis, transformers, etc. If you don't want to go through that trouble (which is perfectly fine) get someone who knows how to build it to put it together or buy a Morgan amp. Let me be clear, im not trying to discourage you at all, it just seems like you want something put together rather quickly.

That is good advice! If you can name me some builders, I will start sending messages immediately.

I would rather have a USA amp than buy a Ceriatone, which I've heard isn't the best.

Anyway, if you can list me some builders I would love to get prices. Thanks again!

I'd bet you won't find anybody here who can match the price or value of a ceriatone. This can't really be done on the cheap.

Well, to be fair, Ceriatone is not made in USA. I've heard and read from people who have put them up against other builders' D-style amps that they need some modification.. anyway, they also don't have a Small Special type amp. But if worse comes to worse, it will be an OTS mini.

I would still like to speak to some builders.
