I saw some 5932/6L6WGB tubes on ebay, & in the description it said to make sure the spacing between octal sockets is enough to accomodate the wider than standard bases. Since these are supposedly ruggedized Mil-spec tubes, the auction got my attention. Has any one used these tubes in a Tweed, & if so, do they fit, & how do they sound?
Thanks much!

Did your 5F4 chassis and stuff arrive yet?
You can check it physically once you have the tubes in hand. If they won't work, I'm sure you could sell these easily.

I have a matched quad of the same 5932s, Sylvania JAN. Brown-base phatties. I haven't installed them in anything as of yet, but I measured them against some normal tube retainers and there was no way that I would be fitting them without some temporary adjustments. I am enthusiastic about them and look forward to trying them, but I'll have to find the time to make the necessary arrangements for installation. Let us know how you like yours, though!
