I would check that mains filter B+1 on cap board ground where does that go to over by the jacks?

The PI ground is connected with the V1 and V2 tubes and really should go so same ground as B+1. Try new PI tube also.

You really could benefit from shielded coax on that effects loop Cliff jacks as well.

The shielding? I have many amps that have no shielding. The last amp that did have shielding was a Splawn Streetrod(an aluminum sheet below the chassis), but even out of the headcase it had no buzzing like the Phaez.
Please explain a bit more about your idea of optimal shielding.
Also, the input resistor is only 12k. I may boost that to make it less "alive", maybe that will quiet things down. No sleeping yet.

On the Phaez, I wasn't a fan of the Shiva circuit so I whipped it into a quasi-JCM800.

A chassis pretends to be a closed 6 sided metal box. It sounds like you have a 5 sided metal box.

The "hum" has subsided, not the "buzz".

The proximity buzz is still there. There was a low 60 hz hum that was audible even with the volume down and increased with Master Volume turned up. That is almost nil with new tubes installed.

Good, one layer of problems removed.

I may try installing a shielded wire for the clean channel input. The gain channel has a shielded wire input.

Doubt this will have any effect on buzz sensed by guitar pickups. Just keep guitar away from the transformer. What had me worried a bit, was if there was some defect in PT or power supply, that was also throwing hum into the circuitry. You eliminated that hum by installing fresh balanced output tubes, perhaps replacing hummy pre tubes too. So it's down to "take the spoon out of the cup before drinking."

Still buzzing like crazy...
I have rewired the input jack, put in three runs of shielded wire, twisted a few of the heater runs, shortened up some of the ground wires. Zero change in hum, nada.

The ground scheme is two points.
One near the input tube for all the preamp tubes.
One ground bus is attached to the speaker jacks, everything else is grounding here, power supply, PI, master volume pot, presence pot, OT and all of the effects sends and returns. Is there a problem with this grounding scheme?

One other symptom, when touching just the tip of a guitar cable, the buzz is LOUD! Unlike other amps that I have this is really LOUD hum, it goes (haaarrrrmmmmmuuurrraaarrraaammmmaaaaaauuuurrrrr). Touching across tip/sleeve is still buzzy but not as loud as just touching the tip of the cable.

I think this is beyond me at this point. To the tech!

Bad power transformer inducing hum into circuit. I fought a Heyboer PT for months before it was sent back and confirmed to have been built incorrectly.
