Bias pot placement

Post by angelodp »

Hi, on an Encore type build ( Vibroverb ), the Allen layout puts the Fender style Bias pot on the floor of the chassis behind the power tubes nearer to the potentiometers. The Accomplice amp brings the bias pot near to the fuse position. As I look at the Encore position it seems awkward at best tucked way back as it is. I have a spot on the rear wall next the fuse to put in with on the back wall just next to the Bias jacks. Is there any good reason not to put the bias pot on the rear wall? I would have to run one wire from the bias wiper back tot eh intensity output, other wise its an easy fit.

Ang, on several builds I have mounted bias pot on the rear panel in the ground switch hole location.

Mike, yup that looks useful. I have mine in that way now. Thanks ….. Do you typically take the bias ground to its own chassis spot?
