Do you guys prefer a front loaded or rear loaded cab with the Express?

Rear loaded here, but it's all personal preference IMO.

Cool. What Celestion type speakers do you like with the Express?

LOL! You just asked the "Scumback" speaker guy what Celestions he likes.

I bet he likes the M/H mix best

Actually I have two preferences...

M75-PVC 65w pair for an Express with humbucker guitar, or just regular M75 65w with a single coil. The PVC models have a little more upper mid kick and liveliness that work with the dual coils better, IMO.

But there are lots of combinations that would work if you need more bass, add an H55 to your M75 for a new feeling of "whomp" to your low end.

I LOVE the J75-PVC's, for me they sit perfectly in between the M's and H's.

Ahh, it's alright. I have to get the new page together anyway, as it's going live later this week. I've been putting these out sparingly for six months getting client feedback (for those they'd work for), and now it's time to put them on the website for ordering.

+1

I haven't tried the Scumbacks, (Sorry Jim  ) but I would love to. I do have a Reaper 55 and a Veteran 30 (WGS) that sound great with a lot of amps including my Express clone. The extra bottom end is thunderous if you want it to be.

In past experiences with Celestions, before I heard about Scumback, I got a little frustrated... I found the G12M-25w Greenbacks to be too dark, and the G12H30's a little too bright and edgy. The J75-PVC is killer, it's my favorite ceramic magnet speaker, especially with the 25w Kraft paper. I am thrilled with the S75-PVC too...

I have a '69 spec slant 4x12 with two 65W M75-PVC on top and two 65W H75-PVC on the bottom. Great sound with an Express, nicely balanced.

I had thought of using either the Heritage G12M's or EVH ones, though they seem like the same thing.

http://celestion.com/product/28/g12_evh/

The reason why, well they are Celestions, and I'm not that familiar with the other speaker. I have heard a lot of You Tube clips, but clips can be deceptive.
Yours Sincerely
