That is the second time I blow a Jensen C12Q RI in a Deluxe Reverb, in 3 or 4 years. The amp has been barely used and not abused. I play with strats, sometimes with boutique overdrive, wah and fuzz, volume between 3 and 5, sometimes I go to 8 for power amp distortion, but very rarely.
This speaker should be the exact replacement for this type of amp (I even saw that Jensen recommend a C12R or P12R...). I've got a 1967 DR with its original Oxford speaker which looks similar, and works very well at every volume for 40 years...
Does anyone had the same experience ? What about the power handling of Jensen reissues ?
I wanted to try a P12Q, but I think alnico's are more fragile (?).
Would it be better to choose a Weber speaker ? are their ratings more reliable ?
