just another amp-o-phile that got into tube amps in the dumbest way possible on earth..... purchasing a "Torres Amps & Guitars" so called "franchise" back in 1994. For my $5000.00 down payment I received my $5000.00 parts inventory in a card board box full of stuff from Mouser. This paid for Dan's vacation to Santa Barbara for my wonderful two week training session...(sorry, this could become a long story so I'll stop)
After a year of servitude I finally came to my senses and eventually unlearned the Torres propaganda thru mentors who actually know about tubes like John Atwood & Eric Barbour....etc.
The moral of the story is: Websites like this keep guys that could end up like I was safe from tube amp predators like Torres. I wish I'd had access to a place like this when I was first getting into amps. The amps built on this forum seem to be among the best quality guitar amps perhaps ever built.
It's nice to have guys who build and share their knowledge; their was nothing like this when I got started.... Thanks to all of you!
