Dumbleator small footprint layout and some questions...

Hi... I worked up this dlator layout to fit in a hammond 10x5x3 box. I have most of the parts on hand but I wanted to see if anyone had any input before I start putting this thing together.

I'd really like to keep the transformer and choke inside of the enclosure... is that going to create noise because of the small size?? Any tips for making this work?

I know to route the ht wires as far from the tube as possible from bobw's experience (https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... dumbleator).

Any other thoughts on this layout? Any obvious problems I'm overlooking? I know a few of you have built these small enclosure dumbleators so maybe someone knows something that I didn't find digging through old threads.

I don't know if this picture would be useful to you or not, but this is what I did and I had no noise issues with it & the transformer was inside the chassis.

Nice looking build! Thanks for posting that... Definitely gives me some confidence that the small enclosure wont be a problem.

Originally I was going to do the rack unit but I don't actually use a rack. A box that could sit on top of any amp will be way more practical for my gigging setups.

Make sure you have the transformer in hand before you commit to an enclosure.

Some of the transformers are taller than the chassis.

So I've heard... I have the enclosure but the transformer is in the mail still... I checked the datasheet before I bought it so hopefully it will fit.

btw I learned a lot from your "My Dumbleator" thread from 2009 so thanks for that

Yours is smaller then my build I used 17" x 8 x 2 chassis but no problem with hum using the circuit Tom developed. I should have gone with 2.5" tall chassis to have more height for the transformer/choke.

Having a smaller version Dlater would be handy.

Yeah I went with the 3" box in hopes that I could stand the tube upright... on paper it should fit but we'll see... I'll start putting everything together after the weekend gigs are over.
