Hi. I'm new to this forum but have been a member on The Gear Page and the Vintage Amp Forum for quite some time. Here's a shot of my Martin 112 next to my DeArmond R15. Both are from late 1960.

These are indeed sweet amps..

Kind of refined fender tweed amps,, more main filtering on the 6v6 plates, larger transformers, and slightly lower coupling caps..It keeps the fender tweed sound but with a tighter bass ,,

Leon C built a sweet clone of the Dearmond R15T, GO check his demo on youtube,, With a large loud Eminence Swamp Thang speaker it can hang with a band..

The R15 is similar to a fender 5e3, The R15T has tremolo that is similar to a fender blackface vibro-champ. The bias wiggle circuit is on the first gain stage of the R15T,
The smaller R5T is very similar to a blackface vibro-champ but has no treble/bass tonestack just the simpler tweed single tone knob preamp.

One popular handwired boutique amp you can buy today is the Savage macht 6 and 12. The macht 6 is a clone of the 6 watt Dearmond R5T tremolo amp. The savage macht 12 with tremolo is not the Dearmond R15T but a parallel single ended 6v6 amp of the R5T making 12W in class A. The Dearmond R15T is a push pull class AB amp with a cathodyne phase inverter, much like a Fender 5e3,, but with tighter bass and slightly more headroom.. and the T version has that lovely tremolo..

DeArmond R15T

Here's the R15T schematic. Oh, I see someone beat me to it, never mind!

I built a 4-6V6 30W version with two 5Y3s and WW2 RCA 6V6 that sounds real nice. 2xG12 Blues are perfect with this circuit!

Selling a Martin 112T!

Post by Wammo »

Hi, I'm brand new to this page but have been a tube tone freak as long as I can remember. I'm selling a Martin 112T on ebay. If you know of anyone who might be looking, please spread the word. Thanks.
