A heat shield between PT and rectifier may help too.

Re: help with a Fan install pictures help wiring? FAN runs slow
anyone know the best place to wire in the fan? don't want to cut any wires but want o keep the run short as possible. I'll be mounting the fan right next to the power transformer like in the pics. Thanks for any input here's a picture of my chasiss.

Re: help with a Fan install pictures help wiring? FAN runs slow
The green wires from the PT connect to a terminal strip. That's a convenient place to pick up 6.3VAC.
Re: help with a Fan install pictures help wiring? FAN runs slow
the strip right behind the front rocker switches right? Thanks just want to make sure. Thinking of not using the switch part don't want to cut holes.

UPdate - pics show wiring fan runs slow
got the fan in wired it to tag board by PT green wires. Fan runs but runs very slow- did I do anything wrong? added picture showing wiring chopstick trying to point out area. thanks for any help.
also how do I read the filament voltage? not getting a reading with my DVM set to DC 20 volts? I tried reading it from pins 4 &5 on the 12ax7's got notyhing and also where I wired it off the tag board- it reads 0 but the fan still works ? what am I doing wrong n

Re: help with a Fan install pictures help wiring? FAN runs slow
Set your meter to read AC voltage, not DC.
Re: help with a Fan install pictures help wiring? FAN runs slow
The tube filaments are still receiving AC voltage (~6.3V) so set your meter accordingly when measuring those pins.
The Weber kit shows a speed switch (Hi and Lo). Does toggling that switch change the fan speed?
You should be able to measure the DC voltage on the new circuit board's output pads that feed the fan leads.
Cheers,
Dave O.

Re: help with a Fan install pictures help wiring? FAN runs slow
I'm just an idiot but thanks to everyone's help here I got it done. Thank you
UPDATE added the kit it works at high speed which is great! low speed dosen't go but thats fine just have to mount it thanks for all your help
Update low speed works fine now - switch was faulty. Fan is noisy at high speed IMHO slow speed noise is ok at a gig noise is a non issue but if recording could be a problem.
