I belong to Ampegv4.com There's not much traffic, but a lot of info there, nonetheless.

I will copy in a section about the tone controls. My schematics don't show the numbers properly, however, you can look at Ampeg's.

"Okay, so for anyone interested I have the cap/resistor values for the encapsulated module.

It's actually the same module as the SVT of the same era, which I found a schematic for
with values on. And I've verified that against my SVP-CL which uses discrete components,
so they all stack back.

Pin 1-2 470pF
Pin 1-3 220K
Pin 3-4 0.001uF
Pin 4-5 0.01uF
Pin 5-7 22K
Pin 6-7 0.0047uF

The inductor is 800mH, tapped at 100mH and 300mH.
Pin 4 is common, pin 3 is 100mH, pin 2 is 300mH and pin 1 is 800mH."

------------

I scored a V2 for $300 a while back. B+ is about 585Vdc. I wouldn't build one like that. I think I'd want to use a Twin Reverb PT or a sub-500V Hiwatt 50W PT.

Why a twin PT and not , say, a Super?

Part of the Ampeg mojo is that it has to weigh over 75lbs. It's all about the "girth".

Reviving this thread for a minute... big thanks to Jaysg for posting his clear schematic for a suggested non-reverb V2 build. I'm getting around to this, and have some questions.

Comparing schematics, and looking at the 6K11 sub section(12AU7 and 1/2 12AX7), I'm thinking that since the 6K11 contains two medium mu triodes, and 1 high mu triode, that maybe V2 should be an au7, and v3a an ax7?
Then for the 12DW7( 1 high mu and 1 low mu) sub(V3b and V4a), maybe V3b should be the ax7 and V4a the au7?
I may have this all wrong, but am looking for some further thoughts on the matter.

For the mid inductor, Mercury wants something osbscene for the multi-tapped creation. Couldn't I just sub discreet inductors at 100, 300, and 800mH, at like $1 a piece?
