Yesterday I had tons of time on my hands ( due to rain outside) and I tried out something I had wanted to do for ages!
I pulled apart my 67 Bandmaster and wired the output stage to Triode mode.
I took out the 2 470 ohm resistors, installed a 100 ohm 2 watter from pin 3 to 4 and took her off standby!
I reset the bias to get 26 ma at idle (a tad cold) and put her through the test session, got the output wattage down to 13 rms from 43 and peak power topped out at 25.
Quite a different sounding amp now, very sweet and still quite loud thru a 2-12" or 4-12" cabinet.
I think on my next build I will use 4 6v6`s with two of them wired in Triode mode to get some of this sweetness into mainly a Pentode sounding output stage.
