Mallory TC series electrolytic......

Can anybody explain me the diference between Mallory TC75 and TC75A electrolytics? I ask because I'm not a technical guy but I have a couple of TC75As tthat I would like to use in a trainwreck Liverpool style amp and I wanna play safe. Thanks!!

The Mallory TC75 series is a general purpose electrolytic cap.

Not sure about the TC75A series.


By the way, Mallory was bought out by Cornell Dubilier.

It looks like it is just a size issue but...what does ESR means?

ESR = Equivalent series resistance

Another important factor is the caps temp rating in my book.
If you amp has the output tubes mounted below the chassis, the heat dump into only 85c rated caps can make for tonal changes, I only use 105c rated caps near and in the output stage!
Most times the preamp is fine with only 85c rated stuff.

I don't think the wrecks get that hot for that to be an issue....
