Thanks for replying guys, I'm not really looking for complete all including DIY projects that cost more or same as the pedals in stores, but schematics where I can go and buy parts myself and put together..
Madbeanprojects looks OK but no serious distortion as far as I can see, only boosts and overdrives.

If you can't find it there, then it doesn't exist layouts only, but a little web search will get you to the schematics as well.

Good point! And excellent quality kits, if I may add, as I have two of their boxes.
Tagboard has much more choice though... and small effort is required to get to the schematic (that in most of the latter cases seems to be either TS808 or Timmy derivative)

Check out runoffgroove for some interesting distortion box options. Many of the projects have ready to print pcb layouts to use if you are into etching your own boards.

I've built a dozen or so off their site and haven't had a bad one yet.
For new builders they have layouts that are very easy to follow.

How do you intend to use it? Into a clean amp, or into an overdriven amp?

Classic distortion pedals typically sound like crap into a clean amp. For that 80s metal sound (Judas Priest, Accept) you should try an MXR Distortion+ or Rat into a (more or less) cranked non-master Marshall. Keep the volume on the pedal relatively low.

d95err No worries, I am not building it to use it, I have kick ass modified Laney VH100R with great distortion for every day use, this is just something I wanna build out of boredom If it sounds really good then I would use it with Laney clean channel but I doubt.. It's just a fun project
