What type of resistor are these?

Post by Mark »

Hi, I have another thread where I'm a little unsure of the resistor type. Here is the link to the pictures.

Mark, with apologies for saying it, those are the kind that aren't made any more. They look carbon comp to my amateur eye. Just rounded at the ends and I guess that's what's prompting the question?

It's a carbon film, I have a few of these. Unlike the more common Euro types such as Piher, Beyschlag, ROE, Draloric or Iskra, this one is the type least likely to be found. The name is on the tip of my tongue, see I will remember this tomorrow...LOL.

Thanks for your reply TM, carbon film is good, it means I won't be gutting this and doing a total rebuild. The 10M resistors should really be metal film.

I think they are called Vitrohm.
There has been some talk over here of massive upwards drift of those when subjected to high DC. I have had that on an old Dynacord and changed some out.
