sometimes it helps when dealing with a very high bloodsugar level to ease the feeling at that certain moment (type I)
but, it lowers ambition big time

This is the problem, type 2 is not only the lack of insulin it is that the cells in the body do not use the insulin made. Many type 2's. Do make insulin but their body is resistant to it. I make insulin, I've been tested, but my cells do not utilize it like a normal person. Metformin has very few side effects , a few that are unpleasant but not life threating. It has been shown to reduce the risk of cancer and other beneficial effects. Yes I'd rather not take it.NickC wrote:billyz wrote:Jerryz , are you or were you diabetic? I doubt it. Hang on a minute, don't be too hasty.
Good friend of mine was IT Director for a New Zealand based medical group study into diabetes. He told be they discovered a "cure" (Type 2), not merely a treatment. They developed an inject-able serum, a variant on conventional insulin harvested from pigs pancreas (as most insulin was produced before adopting recombinant DNA technology for production). It worked. However, the scientific community shunned it, claiming it was unsafe because it could conceivably introduce unanticipated porcine retrovirus hazards. That argument seems a bit of a reach, inasmuch as those same folks didn't seem too concerned about the risks of "unanticipated" recombinant DNA technology going awry.
Anyway, I wasn't there and I'm not trying to scam anyone or spin a tall-tale, but I absolutely trust my source of this information.

u, sir, are a sheeple. No, I'm not diabetic. I do know many diabetics, have an IQ north of 150, and studied this from a MEDICAL point of view. I understand human physiology. The problem with sheeple is they trust in the goodness of human nature.billyz wrote:Jerryz , are you or were you diabetic? I doubt it. I've tried that approach of making new friends and learned that it often fails.Jerryz1963 wrote:u, sir, are a sheeple. No, I'm not diabetic.
