I haven't seen that plate offered before.

And I don't think you'll see too many use it the way I did, but it works!

I'll get a pic for you guys so you can have a laugh as well. Those sockets won't move a centimeter. And those wavy washers they mention, I just had no idea what the hell to do with. Didn't get used at all.

Those sure would've been nice! I couldn't find anything like that when I was looking. Don't remember how I got the idea in my head that those plates from CE would work.

I use the Mojo plates as well. They are great - and made from the same galvonized steel that the mojo chassis are made out of.

If you are using Aluminum chassis you would want to get an aluminum adapter plate made to prevent galvanic corrosion

I've all but scraped it as even after rebuilding P to P , it still had some barely discernible distortion in the mix. The octals are warm and yummy, but I had to run through a pile of tubes to get some that worked. It's a bit of a one trick pony for my taste, like tweeds can be, and it was not an amp I ever really bonded with.

I moved on to build 2 Small Specials (2 X 6L6 versions), which I love. They are also warm, yummy, and rich with harmonics, and will sing a little like a 5E3 if you crank them (handy master volume). I gave one of the Small Specials to a friend who is using it for pedal steel. It is GREAT with the steel, even without reverb.

I will try and track down the distortion on the 5B6 with a scope at some point, but for now the amp is shelved. I spent a friggin long time trying to dial it in and it never arrived. Got pretty sick of it by the end. The Specials were awesome right out of the box.

Bummer about the 5b6.

Tino's PTP worked for me right out of the block with only one replacement needed. I had a very old and very used microphonic 6sl7 but bought a new Russian and it's been perfect. Dead quiet idle.

I also found that the Volume and Tone are interactive.

Hope you pick it up again someday.

I will swap out the transformers at some point. That won't be too big a deal. Probably use the iron that Mark Fowler used on the one he loves. A friend of a friend has a Lil' Walter that I can look at as well (I think the iron is Hammond).
