Given fairly recent occurences on other boards I understand and support Omar's stance. I love reading this board every day and I am learning so much from all the great members.

Ugh.. ain't it funny how a guy just can't seem to avoid clicking it... not only do I have to open it so it's not displayed as unread anymore, but I have to read every last stupid message just in case there's something interesting... And that's just one of my many problems

As I see it unless folks who want it PM someone who has it the thread will continue. I've sent the layout to lots of folks who did this.

Is this an interesting thread - no of course not.

Are attenuators interesting - well no - basically they take a perfectly good amp and make it sound bad (IMHO). I've never liked attenuators (or MV's for that matter - never tried power scaling/damping) Only thing of interest is whether someone has finally figured out how to make attenuation work without sucking the tone. (guess: it ain't gonna happen!)

I'm happy to continue to send out the layout when asked. Unless Omar wants it to stop - and happy to comply with that too.


To draw a line under this thread - how about all further "me too please!" guys simply PM their request to me or one of the "thanks I got it!" guys

I think maybe my comment was taken too seriously. I'm mostly laughing at myself for somehow not being able to resist reading this thread even though I know it doesn't have anything for me (since I don't have or want the DIY airbrake schem). I'm kind of a dork that way, and was just encouraging everyone to have a laugh on me

Yeah you're right - did take it too seriously. Sorry about that.

I think perhaps it's time to post a slightly altered schematic in the files section - let's call it the Wind-break - maybe double all values, halve all wattages then parallel em up?

Hi,
Have any of you any spare adjustable lug for the 100W/25 ohm resistor (Mouser code 588-2125E)?
When I ordered the items for building one Airbrake, Mouser didn't have enough units in stock and the price for sending only one lug to Spain is extremely expensive.
If you have one, you could send me it into an envelope and I would pay you with Paypal.
