Marshall 1987 - OT Choice

Post by Littlewyan »

Has anyone ever used a Hammond 1750N OT? Looking at using one for my new 1987 50W Build but can't find a lot on google about it.

I have used its 100 watt brother a number of times and they sound better than the original by some 15% if I had to place a number on it.
It will not burn up on you like the stocker will if you care to misnatch impeadance to cut about 1/3 of the power and crank it flat out.

Sweet think I'll give it a go. I used a Danbury OT on my TW Express and was pleased with that but thought I'd try something different just to see what was out there. Also wondering if I should go for the standard 3.5K Primary OT or 6.6K in this Plexi.

well if your wallet is big enough and want a sweeter sound when the output stage clips, buy a Interleaved Hammon, not the stocker replacement that is not Interleave wound.
