Single Tone Control with no Vol Attached

Post by RockinRocket »

Im looking for a single tone control thats as lossless as posable while still being useable without a Vol control connected. I just ordered some gds 18 watt transformers and am getting the rest ready.
One channel will be a parallel normal channel and the other I wanted to experiment with a cascaded 2 gain stage simular to a jtm45. Vol after the first gain stage and just a single tone control after the second. Since I wont have an extra triode for a cathode follower I thought Id just keep to the roots of the amp with a single tone control.
I need some ideas its probably really simple but to my surprise I coudnt find any schematics with just single tone controls. Thanks

Most common is a "cut" control wired across the output of the PI, or just a treble bleed cap to ground via a pot wired as a variable resistor like the presence control in a Mesa dual rec for example. Garnet had a cool one too that you can find online.
