Hi Mostro,

To answer your question about max input voltage for the scope input; with a 1x probe, you do not want to see DC or AC peaks, in either polarity, measured to GND, that exceed the specified 300V input limit. However, if you are using a 10x probe, the voltage delivered to the scope input will be 1/10th the voltage you're measuring at the probe tip. This implies that you can measure up to 3KV peaks with a 10x probe, but keep in mind that the probe itself has a max V limit also, so you don't want to exceed that. But for the most part, guitar amplifier voltages are small enough that a 10x probe will work just fine, and won't offend the scope's input circuitry.
